We are contacting you from Increable.com to request your response ahead of the Friday, 15 July 2011 deadline. The initiative we are implementing may be of interest to you as it is related to your organisation's purpose.

Increable comprises of an international team which includes Spaniards, Greeks and other nationalities, who are fully aware of the general sense of dissatisfaction their fellow citizens have with the current state of democratic and political systems.

As specialists in field of visual communication, the initiative we are coordinating recognises that although many of the international movements aiming for change have common objectives, their message remains dispersed for lack of a common visual link. The aim is not to create a single symbol for a global organisation, but a visual link that strengthens all movements which puts the interest of people before profit and seek more just democracies.

Increable disposes of a medium with an international following of specialists in the field of visual communication and we are organising the contest to create this symbol which goes beyond borders and any groups, as upon production it will immediately enter the public domain.

The aim is for the symbol to be a visual icon, optional and secondary to the identity of all the national and international groups, and whose purpose is to demonstrate the mutual support between groups that are promoting the need for a change to a more just society.

The contest will focus on the creation of a positive icon which

will be the product of international collaboration
will be in the public domain and not represent any specific group or organisation
will be available for use, download, saving, sharing and distributing freely
will be available in multiple languages to reinforce individual groups all over the world

Once the contest is finalised and the symbol is chosen, to facilitate its distribution on the net and other media, it will be published with the label/reference/hashtag “International Real Democracy Now”, with versions in different languages. For example in Spanish “Democracia Real Ya Internacional” or in Greek “Διεθνή πραγματική δημοκρατία τώρα”.

Neither the label nor the initiative belong to or represent any specific group operating under this or similar labels. To the contrary, the label“International Real Democracy Now” was chosen because there are many organisations that use variations of this slogan, and the symbol will remain in the public domain. The label will simply serve as a reference to find, download and distribute the symbol.

The contest will be accessible to all who wish to participate and will be broadcast internationally. The term to send designs will be 1 month and following this period there will follow a voting process to choose the winning designer. The contest will have a symbolic prize financed by donations and Increable will contribute an initial donation which anyone will be able to increase during the contest term.

All invited groups expressing their support for the contest by the Friday 15 July 2011 deadline (the contest can be previewed here: http://www.increable.com/es-es/irdn_en) will be mentioned in the all official international communication broadcast about this initiative.

We are not asking for your financial support or any commitments. We simply request you confirm your backing for the intiative with a simple email to actnow@increable.com. International media will be informed of this initiative on 18 July 2011, so please ensure you confirm support by email before Friday 15 July 2011.
